PageGoal is a reading tracker app for iOS and Android. The app works primarily offline and does not require a user account. This privacy policy explains which data is processed, on what legal basis, and what rights you have.
All your data — books, reading progress, challenges, streaks, and statistics — is stored exclusively on your device. No data is transmitted to our servers, as there are none. If you delete the app, all locally stored data is permanently removed. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (performance of contract / provision of the app's functionality).
When you search for a book, PageGoal sends your search query to the Google Books API to retrieve book information (title, author, cover image, page count). Your IP address is transmitted to Google in this process. Provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google may transfer data to the USA. An adequacy decision by the EU Commission exists under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (provision of the app's search functionality). PageGoal can send local push notifications to remind you of your daily reading goal. These notifications are generated entirely on your device — no data is sent to external servers. You can enable or disable notifications at any time in your device settings. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR (consent).
PageGoal does not use any analytics, tracking, or advertising services. No usage data, crash reports, or personal information is collected or shared with third parties.
All data is stored locally on your device for the entire duration of your app usage. Data is deleted when you remove a book, reset the app, or uninstall it. No data is retained by us beyond your device.
Under the GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data: • Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR) • Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR) • Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) • Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR) • Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR) • Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR) • Right to withdraw consent at any time (Art. 7 (3) GDPR) Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can exercise these rights at any time by editing or deleting your data within the app.
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority if you believe that the processing of your personal data violates the GDPR (Art. 77 GDPR).
PageGoal does not knowingly collect personal data from children. Since no personal data is collected or stored beyond the device, the app is safe for users of all ages.
